Examination Structure

  • Format: This section contains 20 images, each with 5 associated questions (100 total questions).
  • Visual Aids: Arrows indicate specific anatomical structures. Text in brackets () is provided to guide you toward the correct area of interest.
  • Scope: Questions may refer to a numbered arrow or the image as a whole.
  • Time Management: In the official CMSA setting, you have 75 minutes to complete all 100 questions. Use these practice sets to refine your pace.

Answering Guidelines

  • Specificity is Critical: Provide the highest level of anatomical detail possible. Distinctions between ‘Artery’ and ‘Vein’ are mandatory.
  • Lateralisation: You must lateralise structures where applicable. Use “Lt” for Left and “Rt” for Right.
  • Compound Answers: Be aware that some questions may require more than one answer to secure the mark.
  • Sequencing: Follow the question numbers carefully; arrows may not always be placed in linear or clockwise order.

Automated Marking Accuracy To receive a correct mark from the automated system, your typed responses must closely match the memorandum. Factors that may result in an incorrect mark include:

  • Misspellings or typos.
  • Extra spaces or unnecessary articles (e.g., “the”, “a”).
  • Non-standard abbreviations.

Review & Manual Grading If a response is marked “Incorrect” but you are confident it is conceptually accurate:
